Terms of service

TNN Events & Vacation Experiences Terms of Service

Better Collective Canada Inc. d/b/a The Nation Network ("TNN")

These Terms of Service apply to events, trips, vacation experiences, fan experiences, activities and related offerings hosted or made available by TNN.

For purposes of these Terms, each applicable trip, event, vacation experience, activity or related offering is referred to as an "Event."

By purchasing, registering for, attending or participating in an Event, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms, together with the applicable TNN Liability Waiver.

Additional Event-specific terms, supplier terms, venue rules, local requirements or other conditions may also apply and form part of the conditions of your participation.

1. Bookings, Payments and Payment Plans

Payment is due either in full at the time of purchase or according to the payment plan offered for the applicable Event.

Where a payment plan is offered, customers are responsible for completing all scheduled payments by the applicable due dates.

Failure to make a required payment may result in cancellation of the booking, removal from the Event and/or loss of amounts previously paid, subject to applicable supplier terms and applicable law.

By completing an online purchase, the credit card holder authorizes TNN to process the full purchase amount or applicable scheduled payment-plan instalments, together with any permitted administration fees associated with changes or cancellations.

2. Cancellations, Refunds, Changes and Transfers

Payments, refunds, cancellations, changes, credits and transfers are subject to the applicable terms of TNN and any third-party suppliers involved in the Event.

These suppliers may include airlines, hotels, resorts, transportation companies, ticketing providers, Expedia Cruises, venues and other travel or Event partners.

Certain deposits, bookings, flights, accommodations, tickets, activities or other Event components may be:

  • Non-refundable;

  • Non-transferable;

  • Subject to cancellation or change fees; or

  • Subject to specific cancellation deadlines.

Administrative, processing, cancellation or change fees may also apply where permitted.

TNN is not responsible for refunds, credits, cancellation fees, change fees, penalties or other amounts imposed or denied by a third-party supplier.

Where refunds or credits are permitted, processing may be completed by the applicable supplier, travel partner, payment platform and/or TNN. Timing will depend on the applicable supplier and payment-processing requirements.

3. Accommodation

Trip-specific accommodation information will be provided at purchase or otherwise communicated before the Event.

Hotel security deposits and incidental charges are the responsibility of the traveler.

Participants are responsible for charges associated with their stay, including damage to hotel or accommodation property.

Where TNN offers room pairing, participation is voluntary. TNN is not responsible for incidents or disputes occurring between participants sharing accommodations, including disagreements, theft, loss or property damage.

Participants must comply with all applicable accommodation-provider rules and policies.

4. Required Traveler Information

Participants must provide all information requested by TNN at least 45 days before departure, unless a different deadline is communicated by TNN or the applicable supplier.

Failure to provide required information by the applicable deadline may prevent TNN or its suppliers from completing travel arrangements and may result in removal from the Event without a refund where the booking can no longer be completed.

Information collected for travel or Event administration will be used in accordance with applicable law and TNN's applicable privacy policies and notices.

Passport and identification information will only be shared with suppliers requiring that information to complete the applicable travel, accommodation, transportation, ticketing, insurance or Event arrangements, or where otherwise required by law.

5. Passports, Identification and Entry Requirements

Participants are solely responsible for ensuring they possess all documents required to travel and participate in the Event.

This may include:

  • Valid passports;

  • Government-issued identification;

  • Visas;

  • Travel authorizations;

  • Vaccination documentation; and

  • Any other documentation required for travel, entry, participation or re-entry.

TNN is not responsible where a participant is denied boarding, entry, participation or re-entry because documentation is incomplete, incorrect, invalid or expired.

6. Third-Party Suppliers and Travel Partners

Certain Event components may be arranged, fulfilled or supported by third-party suppliers or partners, including Expedia Cruises, airlines, hotels, resorts, transportation providers, ticketing providers, restaurants, venues, activity providers and other service providers.

Third-party suppliers may maintain their own:

  • Terms and conditions;

  • Rules and restrictions;

  • Cancellation deadlines;

  • Refund policies;

  • Liability limitations; and

  • Insurance requirements.

Participants are responsible for reviewing and complying with all applicable supplier terms.

Except to the extent directly caused by TNN's own actions and required by applicable law, TNN is not responsible for a third-party supplier's acts, omissions, delays, cancellations, schedule changes, overbooking, denied boarding, baggage issues, injuries, illnesses, property damage, additional costs, refund decisions or service failures.

7. Travel Insurance

TNN does not provide personal travel insurance.

Participants are responsible for obtaining appropriate travel, medical, cancellation, interruption, baggage or other insurance according to their individual circumstances.

Insurance options may be made available through Expedia Cruises or other third-party travel partners. Participants are responsible for determining whether to purchase such insurance and for reviewing all coverage limits, exclusions, conditions and requirements.

8. Assumption of Risk and Liability Waiver

Participation in an Event is voluntary and may involve inherent risks, including risks associated with:

  • Travel and transportation;

  • Accidents or personal injury;

  • Illness;

  • Weather or travel conditions;

  • Delays and cancellations;

  • Itinerary changes;

  • Accommodation;

  • Activities;

  • Third-party suppliers;

  • Interaction with other participants;

  • Alcohol consumption; and

  • Loss or damage to personal property.

Participants accept responsibility for their own safety and well-being and acknowledge that they have been advised to obtain appropriate personal insurance.

Participation is also subject to TNN's applicable Terms and Conditions and Liability Waiver, which participants must review and accept as part of the booking or registration process.

9. Alcohol

Alcohol may be available at certain Events.

Participants choosing to consume alcohol accept responsibility for their conduct, decisions and resulting consequences and agree to drink responsibly and comply with applicable laws, legal age restrictions and venue policies.

10. Participant Conduct and Removal

Participants must conduct themselves in a respectful, responsible and safe manner.

TNN maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding:

  • Bullying;

  • Harassment;

  • Discrimination;

  • Excessive intoxication;

  • Violence; or

  • Other conduct that may endanger participants, staff, partners or the Event experience.

TNN may remove a participant from an Event where, in TNN's discretion, the participant's conduct is disruptive, unsafe, unlawful or damaging to the experience of others, or where the participant fails to comply with these Terms, supplier requirements, venue rules, safety instructions or applicable law.

No refund will be provided where a participant is removed for such conduct.

Any additional costs arising from removal, including travel, transportation or accommodation costs, are the responsibility of the participant.

11. Medical Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, participants authorize TNN and its representatives to obtain medical treatment where reasonably necessary.

Participants remain responsible for medical costs incurred in connection with their participation in the Event.

TNN does not provide personal medical or travel insurance.

12. Indemnification

Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless TNN and the other Released Parties identified in the applicable Liability Waiver from claims, costs, expenses, damages and liabilities arising from the participant's:

  • Conduct;

  • Breach of these Terms;

  • Failure to comply with supplier or venue rules;

  • Provision of inaccurate or incomplete information;

  • Damage to property; or

  • Actions resulting in claims by third parties,

to the extent permitted by applicable law.

13. Customer Responsibility for Information

Customers must provide complete and accurate information when booking or participating in an Event.

Any fees, charges or penalties resulting from incorrect, incomplete or false information may be passed on to the customer, including administrative costs, supplier penalties and costs associated with changing travel or accommodation arrangements.

Customers must promptly notify TNN of changes to previously supplied information, including:

  • Legal name;

  • Contact information;

  • Passport or identification details;

  • Accessibility needs;

  • Travel details; or

  • Other information required to administer the booking or Event.

14. Photography, Video and Promotional Use

TNN may photograph, film or otherwise record participants during an Event.

By participating, customers grant TNN and its affiliates, partners and representatives permission to use their name, image, likeness, voice, appearance and participation as captured during the Event for purposes including:

  • Event-related content;

  • Recaps;

  • Social media;

  • Website content;

  • Advertising;

  • Promotional materials; and

  • Other marketing activities.

Participants waive the right to inspect or approve the finished material and acknowledge that no compensation will be provided for such use, subject to applicable law.

15. Electronic Acceptance

Customers may be required to confirm acceptance of these Terms and the applicable Liability Waiver during checkout or registration.

Checking an acceptance box, completing a purchase or registration, or using another applicable electronic acceptance process constitutes affirmative electronic acceptance.

TNN may retain records of that acceptance.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable within Alberta, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

Mandatory consumer protection, travel, Event, venue, health and safety or other laws of another jurisdiction will continue to apply where they cannot legally be excluded by contract.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit a legal right or protection that cannot lawfully be waived.

17. Severability

If any portion of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

18. Agreement to Terms

By purchasing, registering for, attending or participating in an Event, you confirm that you have reviewed and agreed to these Terms of Service, the applicable TNN Terms and Conditions and Liability Waiver, and any additional Event-specific or supplier terms that apply to your booking.
